The source of a transmission leak isn’t always so obvious. Take, for example, a fluid leak that emanates from the interface between the engine and transmission. Is the engine’s rear main seal at fault, or has the transmission’s front pump seal sprung a leak? A little trace dye in the transmission fluid will quickly reveal the culprit.
